Brit Awards: Duffy Yea, Coldplay Nay

Finally, someone acknowledges that Coldplay is shite....

With 4 nominations for Coldplay yielding zip but similarly-nominated Duffy taking home three trophies, the annual BRIT Awards concluded last night in London.

 

 Duffy's sweep included Best Album, Best British Female and Best British Breakthrough. Other notables: Paul Weller, Best British Male Solo; Girls Aloud (who?), Best Single; Elbow, Best British Group; Iron Maiden, Best Live Group; Kanye West, Best International Male; and Katy Perry, Best International Female.

 

The Kings Of Leon, inexplicably, nabbed both the Best International Album and Best International Group awards, helping - despite the sensible treatment of Coldplay - to restore the image of British awards ceremonies being essentially vapid, clueless and meaningless.
