Rollins Tours and Calls for Recountdown

Lions and tigers and Bushes and Cheneys, oh my!

Henry Rollins is gearing up to hit the road with, as we are advised by his camp, “an eye to the future and a disapproving nod to the past.” We’re talking, of course, of the impending end to the Bible Thumper In Chief’s sordid reign in Amerika. That’s right: Rollins will be putting his mouth where our money is with his latest talking tour, dubbed “Recountdown.”
The tour kicks off September 19 in Berkeley, CA and will run past Election Day in November to ensure no irregularities as polling places. Tickets for the tour go on sale July 17 and July 18, with pre-sales starting TODAY, Monday, July 14 at 10 a.m. at www.Rollinsrollins.com and www.21361.com.
“Hoping that the bad times are almost over, I am taking advantage of the current situation to spend the last few nights of the catastrophic Bush administration onstage,” Rollins said in a statement. “Things will be so different after he's gone. For me, the new century will have finally arrived. Since I was last in the cities that I will be visiting on this tour, I have been fairly far and wide and have a lot of new stories to tell. I look forward to spending autumn in my favorite country.”
It’s guaranteed to be a two-fisted, multifaceted journey through Rollins’ hyperactive ID, across our political and cultural landscape, and perhaps a smidge of punk rock ‘tude. Tattoos optional.
Before “Recountdown,” Rollins will be in Thailand and Burma, followed by a string of European tour dates in August. Meanwhile, IFC recently filmed his performances in Cape Town, Belfast and at Tipitina’s in New Orleans for TV specials to air later this year.
